How We Think About Sustainability

We don't claim to have all the answers. But we care enough to keep asking the questions — and to be honest about where we are on the journey.

    Mindful Packaging

We choose packaging that does its job without doing unnecessary harm. Where possible, we use compostable or recyclable containers, and we're always looking for better options. It's not perfect yet — but we're honest about where we are and committed to improving.

    Reducing Waste

Our kitchen model is built around batch cooking, precise portioning, and careful stock rotation. Food that doesn't sell isn't wasted — we track it, learn from it, and adjust. We'd rather cook the right amount well than throw away what we overproduced.

    Thoughtful Sourcing

We source ingredients with care — choosing suppliers who share our values where we can, and being transparent about trade-offs when we can't. West African ingredients don't always come with a short supply chain, but we work with trusted partners and prioritise quality and integrity.

    Care for Community

Ten31 exists because of the community around it. We hire locally, support neighbouring businesses, and try to be a good neighbour on York Road. The table is always open — and the goal is to make sure that extends beyond the dining room.

    Responsible Growth

We're a small business growing at a pace that feels right. We'd rather do things properly than quickly. Every decision — from our menu to our delivery radius — is made with long-term sustainability in mind, not just short-term growth.

"Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."

That includes how we treat the world around us.
